The Center manages a comprehensive service continuum system which contains the following components:

By contract with the Dixie Regional Medical Center, Southwest provides in-patient psychiatric treatment at the hospital's Behavioral Medicine Unit for all Medicaid recipients.
Center staff work in close cooperation with DRMC staff on discharge and aftercare.
The purpose of the unit is to provide a short-term, structured environment for people with acute psychiatric needs while providing medical, psychological and psychosocial treatment.
The center also manages 11 Utah State Hospital beds for those individuals requiring intermediate or long term care.

Outpatient therapy is a major part of our program and is provided on a Monday through Friday basis, with appointments to be scheduled through the receptionist in each office. Family, group, and individual counseling is available. Emergencies are managed as they arise and are given priority attention. Services are offered for depression, anxiety, individual or family relationships, substance abuse, and other problems related to emotional adjustment. Extended service hours are available when necessary.

Outpatient treatment services are available to adult women, particularly those who are substance abusing. Specialized staff coordinate and network outside services and resources for women in treatment
Special consideration is given to women with dependent children and to women who are pregnant. Women seeking treatment my receive child care assistance, transportation assistance and long-term foster care. Services may include counseling, residential treatment, education programs, parenting, and life-skill developmental groups.

An area emergency response plan is operated under the clinical management structure of the Center. This system is accessible to all five counties served by the Southwest Behavioral Health Center.
